Stage 2. St Jean- Laruns. 82 miles/ 12304 ft
Queen stage with climbs that are delightful but quite difficult. Burdincurutxeta is the first pass of the day with its first 3 miles steeper that 10% grade. Later we ride on the famous Iraty beech forest on the french side. Soulor is the next climb with quite steep slopes, and often the temperatures in that valley are warmer that usual. After a big and energetic lunch, we descend the Aspe valley and finish the stage climbing Marie Blanque on its toughest side. Arrival to Laruns where we can finally get some rest in our hotel.
